Sequanza is operated by KLYTICS LLC. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. We believe in keeping things straightforward — no buried clauses, no surprises.
01What We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and (optionally) a profile avatar. If you sign up through a third-party provider (such as Google or Discord), we receive basic profile information from that service.
Reading Activity
We track which series and chapters you read, your current reading position, and the time you spend on each page. This data powers your reading history, "continue reading" features, and — in aggregated, anonymized form — the analytics dashboards that creators use to improve their work.
Payment Information
If you purchase a subscription or unlock paid chapters, payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or banking details on our servers. We do retain transaction records (amounts, dates, and items purchased) for accounting and creator payout purposes.
Device and Usage Data
We automatically collect basic technical information such as your browser type, operating system, IP address, and referring URL. This helps us diagnose issues, prevent abuse, and understand how people use the platform.
02How We Use It
Service Delivery
Your data lets us run the platform: authenticating your sessions, serving content you have access to, saving your reading progress, and processing payments.
Creator Analytics
We aggregate reading activity data and provide it to creators through their analytics dashboards. Creators see metrics like total views, page-level drop-off rates, and subscriber counts. They never see your personal identity — analytics are always aggregated and anonymized.
Communication
We use your email address to send transactional messages (purchase confirmations, password resets, payout notifications) and, if you opt in, updates about new series from creators you follow. You can unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time.
Safety and Abuse Prevention
We use device and usage data to detect and prevent fraud, bot activity, scraping, and other abuse of the platform.
03Third-Party Services
We share data with a limited set of third-party services, only to the extent necessary to operate Sequanza:
- Stripe — payment processing. Stripe receives your payment details directly; we never handle or store them. See Stripe's privacy policy.
- Resend — transactional email delivery. Resend processes your email address and message content to deliver emails on our behalf.
- Vercel — hosting and infrastructure. Vercel processes request data (IP addresses, headers) as part of serving the application.
- Sentry — error tracking. When something goes wrong, Sentry captures error details along with basic session information (browser, OS, anonymized user ID) so we can diagnose and fix bugs.
We do not sell your personal data to anyone. We do not share data with advertisers. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles.
04Your Rights
Regardless of where you live, we provide you with the following rights over your personal data:
- Access. You can request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
- Correction. If any data we have is inaccurate, you can request a correction.
- Deletion. You can request that we delete your account and all associated personal data. Some data may be retained as required by law (e.g., tax records for payouts).
- Data Export. You can export your data (reading history, account information, and purchase records) in a machine-readable format through your account settings.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@sequanza.io. We will respond within 30 days.
06Children
Sequanza is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, contact us at privacy@sequanza.io and we will delete the information promptly.
07Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice on the platform at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Minor clarifications or formatting updates may be made without notice.
